Dave has been working in the food and beverage industry since 1985. He spent the first 13 years of his career with DB Breweries in New Zealand, where he gained valuable experience during the extensive redevelopment of the company's Waitemata Brewery. He then worked for Lion Nathan in Australia as Group Electrical Engineer.
Dave joined Beca in 1999 and embarked on a number of major food and beverage projects in Australia across all market sectors. For most of these, he took the role of Project Director. The valuable experience he has gained and the relationships developed during this time have enabled Dave to continue growing Beca's presence and reputation in the evolving food and beverage industry.
Dave has been heavily involved in growing Beca's food and beverage capabilities from the traditional brewery business into new sectors such as dairy, beverage, meat and consumer foods. This focus has resulted in Beca developing an impressive profile of projects and clients across the food and beverage market sectors.
In his current role as National Projects Director, Dave focuses on the Australian market as well as working closely with the Beca international team in pursuing new opportunities. His current major project is in Papua New Guinea, where SP Brewery is embarking on a major capital works program. Dave is leading the team and working closely with SP Brewery's parent companies Asia Pacific Breweries and Heineken.
Dave believes Beca's key strength is our capacity to work with clients from the front-end study phase of a project to full project implementation. "Our collaboration across geographical hubs, our ability to draw on in-house expertise and our ability to integrate design and project management helps us to explore a range of project opportunities and address a range of client requirements to help successfully execute their projects."
