Ian has worked in the water and wastewater industry for 20 years in the UK, Australia and New Zealand undertaking projects in the USA, Spain and Singapore.
For the last 6 years, Ian has been Manager of Auckland Water for Beca, leading numerous projects to develop or upgrade water, stormwater, wastewater network or treatment systems. His expertise in modelling and planning of wastewater networks and his experience in network planning gives him the ability to offer creative and efficient solutions to benefit his clients.
One of Ian’s main focuses has been to develop his staff by offering them a variety of opportunities to contribute in water group projects and working alongside our senior people. As a result, Ian receives great satisfaction watching these people develop themselves, their projects and their careers.
Ian is a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environment Management and the New Zealand Water & Wastes Association and is experienced in project direction and project management. Ian was a founder member of the NZWWA Modelling Group and previously served as chair. He is a current member of the Association’s technical committee for their annual conference.
