“Beca is a place for constant learning, working with supportive colleagues and understanding the fundamentals of engineering design.”
Galvin enjoys the fast-paced nature of his job in Singapore’s engineering and construction industry. A definite highlight for him since joining Beca mid-2008 has been successfully completing a project tender design for Spottiswoode Park Condominium, a development comprising a 36-storey block of residential flats and a 5-storey carpark block.
With supportive colleagues always at hand, Galvin was pleasantly surprised by the prominent learning culture at Beca. “Everyday there is always something new to learn and regardless of your experience, the learning curve never stops,” he says. Galvin believes the unity at Beca allows extensive knowledge sharing to take place, helping graduates to readily integrate with the firm.
With a passion for constantly improving his designs and adding the all important ‘wow’ factor, Galvin relishes the challenge of solving clients’ problems. “Despite the difficulties that our clients’ requirements might pose, there is always a solution waiting to be discovered,” he says.
