Joining Beca in 2007, Pei Kai has enjoyed working closely with international consultants in the South East Asian market. This has been a positive move for his career as he has been able to work with highly experienced engineers on a variety of projects.
After gaining a Bachelor in Civil and Structural Engineering, Pei Kai has been able to continue to develop his learning from the mentors and senior engineers at Beca. Pei Kai has worked on a range of projects including the Merrill Lynch fit-out works at Harbour Front Center, Singapore and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The latter project marked the beginning of Beca's foray into the Vietnamese market and one of the challenges was to adapt Singapore's working style to the local practices. Pei Kai enjoyed learning about the different requirements set out by the local Vietnamese authorities and looks forward to working on future projects in Vietnam and the rest of South East Asia.
