Han Siong initially worked in a building services consultancy before completing a master degree in mechanical engineering at the National University of Singapore. Upon his graduation in 2002, he joined Beca’s building services team as mechanical engineer - and his career truly took off.
In April 2008, Han Siong became an Associate Director in the Beca Singapore Office.
Han Siong has been involved in wide range of building projects such as institutional, residential, office, infrastructure and mixed development projects. He enhanced his skills and experience through a wide range of roles in these projects such as Lead Design Engineer, Job Manager and Job Director.
A highlight for Han Siong was his involvement with the Keppel Island Sewage Pumping Station as Mechanical Design Engineer. The Singapore team had initially worked on the upgrading of the existing Public Utility Board’s pumping station; and this was the first new sewage pumping station project the Beca Singapore team had undertaken. The station was successfully completed and handed over to Public Utility Board in 2007.
Han Siong is currently involved in a prestigious waterfront residential project, Reflections at Keppel Bay. Singapore. Designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind of New York, the project consists of 17 blocks and 1129 luxury apartments. In this project, Han Siong had an opportunity to work with an international consultant team in overcoming design challenges posed by six iconic double curvature tower blocks.
